BC Powder Pitcher of the Week
JASON FRASOR – JACKSONVILLE SUNS
Jacksonville Suns’ closer Jason Frasor was honored as the BC Powder Southern League Pitcher of the Week after three overpowering performances. On August 15, the righthander closed out the victory against West Tenn by striking out two hitters in one inning of work while surrendering one hit and two walks, but no runs. The 26-year-old allowed no hits or runs, and only one walk in his next appearance against Tennessee on August 18. He recorded four of the five outs via strikeout in picking up the save. Frasor followed that performance on August 20, when he pitched a perfect final inning while striking out the Greenville side to garner his third save of the week. For the week, Frasor pitched three and two-thirds innings, giving up no runs on one hit, while striking out nine, and walking three. The Los Angeles Dodgers acquired Frasor in a trade with the Detroit Tigers in 2002. The Tigers originally drafted Frasor in the 33rd round of the 1999 draft out of Southern Illinois University. He resides in Oak Forest, IL.
